Lucilla Sim : Found on the Road North

Lucilla Sim, StAnza Artist in Residence 2012, discusses her exhibition, which was shown during the 2014 festival. Sim combines found objects and text, and uses a process that utilises potassium permanganate to provide a layered affect on her work.

Sim studied painting at Leith School of Art and life drawing at Edinburgh College of Art. Her work is influenced by the patterns of weather, geology and archaeology in the landscape. She has explored the residues of past lives and cultures in her art work and has been influenced by the remoter areas of Scotland.

StAnza is St.Andrews annual poetry festival that brings poets and speakers from all over the UK to discuss themes and topics in poetry. The programme also features music and art, providing the chance for collaboration across creative mediums.
